This website has been 2 years in the making.
During that time there were many opportunities to get it started and each one evaporated. The need for it was always there but the timing was not - until now.
In June of 2009, we find ourselves in a curious position. We can see that we are either:
- Technically bankrupt and staring a long period of recession or depression in the face, even though we print our own money.
- On the verge of creating a new paradigm of human existence.
- Or both!!!
Never has the "half glass empty/half glass full" metaphor been more pertinent to the state of humanity.
It could also be said that those who have directly and indirectly led us to the brink of bankruptcy exhibit no signs of original thinking that would create the new.
At the same time, those who have original thoughts and visions are generally marginalised and feel disenfranchised by the political process. Unless we find the mechanism to empower these original thinkers to show us better ways, we are probably destined for a prolonged period of social suffering.
The central function of brilliantworld.org is to provide an outlet for original thinkers; one they might not have otherwise had. It is intended as an interactive site, so that registered members can make comments and evaluate proposals that are put forward.
The over-riding purpose, however, is to help cultivate a culture of originality and brilliance, which will eventually and inevitably spill over into the public psyche and the corridors of power.
There will be prizes for the best visions and anyone wishing to become a sponsor need find only $1000 - or as much as they can afford. My own business, Blessed Earth, will put forward $5000 to get the ball rolling. Sponsors will be acknowledged in order according to the size of their donation, which will be paid into a trust account.
We need a new model for living on this planet. This model is already there, within the hearts and minds of countless millions of highly intelligent people all around the globe. The ideas; the plans and the dreams, are waiting to be discovered and arranged to create best case scenarios in every aspect of life.
I hope you enjoy brilliantworld.org. and look forward to receiving your contributions and comments.

Questions and Answers
Question: How did Brilliant World start?
Answer (Raithe Handiman): It came as an inspiration at the total solar eclipse of March 19th 2007 – which also happened to be my 60th birthday. It was not something I consciously planned. Over the course of this lifetime a number of such inspirations have manifested, usually at solar eclipses. None was as important as this one
Q: What changed?
A: The financial meltdown highlighted the fact that our way of being on the planet has to change. We have to develop infrastructure that is geared to deliver outcomes for the greater good, rather than those which satisfy the wants of either powerful minorities or mindless majorities.
Q: What is the need for Brilliant World?
A: Collectively speaking, people have become numb to what’s happening in our world. We have become mesmerized by images of our political leaders telling us the way it is and the way it will be. We have handed our power over to leaders we don’t really trust and have become resigned to a world we neither like nor believe in.
There is always a lot of talk going on about all the negative things that are happening – we pride ourselves on our knowledge of these things – but all we are doing is feeding energy into the problems we confront.
No amount of debate can fix our world. It is fundamentally flawed as it gravitates around self-interest. In the coming years we will see a revolution as humanity, firstly, comes to grips with its organizational failures and secondly, grapples with finding more meaningful solutions.
The problem we have is that there is no established culture of coming up with best-case scenarios based on meaningful values that reflect the greater good.
Brilliant World is a step in that direction. It sets out to ground the very way of thinking that will ultimately allow us to co-create the kind of life we all dream of.
Q: How long will this take?
A: That’s up to us. At the moment we are being controlled and it appears that pattern might have some time to run, because we still feed it with fear and apathy.
There are no grounds for optimism within our current model of life. It’s pointless fighting that model or trying to fine-tune it. The change will only come when a critical mass of people comes up with a superior blueprint. In order to achieve that we have to start playing with it, making it our passion to create a new reality that we will all love to be a part of.
There are enough people awake to what’s going on in the world – maybe 20% of us in western societies at least. The time factor is all about how long it will take for the 20% to gather and join forces behind a new blueprint.
When that blueprint becomes finalized, only those with the narrowest and strongest forms of vested interest will reject it. Let’s say they are 1%. They are the only ones who derive any joy from the hapless state of humanity at the moment. The other 99% are fed up with it.
There will be a peaceful revolution, made possible by the collapse we are watching unfold.
We envisage there will be 3 phases of brilliantworld.org
- The collection of original suggestions that form part of your picture of a perfect world.
- The collation of those ideas into the blueprint of a new social reality.
- The implementation of that blueprint.
That is the spectrum of the thought stream that gave rise to the project.
The organizers of brilliantworld.org
hope that other, larger, more effective organizations will join in this mission and perhaps take over. We are here to serve only as required.
Q: What gives you the right to take on such a big project?
A: Having been gifted the inspiration – the understanding that this is the next step for humanity – there was no choice. There are countless individuals around the planet who have this same understanding, probably millions of people all tapping into the same thought-form.
Q: What do you get out of it?
A: There is no thought of financial reward nor will there be any, except, you might say, indirectly through advertising my business. In future, other businesses might like to support the project instead and I’d welcome that. There is an acknowledged debt of $4500 to Kam for his excellent programming job on the website. If ever more money flows into the project we might transparently express the need to declare that debt as a future expense. That would be in the future.
Q: Why do you offer prize-money? Isn’t that a bit commercial?
A: We’re doing it to help get things started and also because we feel original thinkers should be rewarded, just like any other writer, actor, craftsman, businessman, politician etc…
Original thinkers typically feel marginalized and unappreciated. It’s time to change that and make them “fashionable”. They are precious jewels in this emerging age of profound change.
